Make plan for 25 lakh Covid vaccine doses every day in July: CS tells DMs

: Pointing out that the Centre had fixed a target of administer­ing one crore Covid vaccine doses per day in the country in July, UP chief secretary Rajendra Kumar Tiwari on Monday directed district magistrate­s to chalk out an action plan for giving 25 lakhs doses in the state every day.

Holding a meeting with commission­ers and DMs through a video conference, he said currently four lakh doses of vaccine were being given every day in the state to achieve the target of one crore vaccinatio­n in June. “The Centre has a target of administer­ing 1 crore doses a day in the country in July. Going by this, UP will have to give around 20 lakh doses every day,” he said asking DMs to make preparatio­ns in their districts accordingl­y. He also asked DMs to carry out a public awareness campaign three days before starting the vaccinatio­n drive to dispel people’s doubts. He said contract tracing should also be enhanced to trace at least 25 people per one positive case.

Reviewing the progress of setting up of oxygen plants, Tiwari found that 72 of the 416 plants had already been set up in the state. He directed officials to ensure all the oxygen plants become perational by July 31. He said oxygen plants would also be set up in all private hospitals with capacity above 50 beds and asked officials to have meetings with private hospital operators in this regard.

Presentati­on on Noida airport

During the project monitoring and implementa­tion committee’s meeting, chief executive, Noida airport, Arunveer Singh on Monday made a presentati­on on the upcoming Noida Internatio­nal Airport at Jewar. He said the government would have to acquire an additional 1,185 hectares of land for the expansion of the airport and this, he added, would require around Rs 2,890 crore investment.

The CS asked Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway authoritie­s to make their capital share available to the DM, GB Nagar. He said the state government had already transferre­d its share of Rs 1,084 crore.
