'WANT TO LIVE MY LIFE IN A BALANCED WAY FROM NOW ON'
Radhika Madan feels the lockdown has taught her a lot, she wants to give equal importance to everything
Wtitas.chowdhury@hindustantimes.com ith shoots stalled in Maharashtra in April and a curfew imposed in Delhi, Radhika Madan decided to take the opportunity to return to her home in the Capital and spend time with her parents. “I wanted to be around my family during this time and I didn’t want them (my parents) and myself to be alone. My brother is in Toronto (Canada). Now the situation is tricky, I’m glad I flew down at that time,” she says.
She asserts that even with vaccination beginning full throttle, it will be difficult to stay safe from Covid-19 unless people change their mindset. Public figures, she believes, should set a precedent and spread awareness. “It’s been one-and-a-half year since the virus is here and people still wear masks below their nose. What’s the point of wearing a mask then? We’ll have to target people’s mindset and that will happen by setting examples. Those in positions of influence should lead by example,” Madan shares.
Pointing at the grim situation created by the pandemic, the Angrezi Medium (2020) actor says, “Subconsciously, we’re all ending up attracting negative energy.” But she is quick to add that she’s looking at the silver lining and the lockdown has taught her to count her blessings. “I would want to live my life in a balanced way from now on without having to prioritise one thing over another,” she says.
This year will see Madan foray into the web world with two anthology films, Ray and Feels Like Ishq. “I’ll be seen in two short films but very soon I’ll do a full-fledged web show,” she reveals. Was she apprehensive about venturing into the OTT space so soon? “I don’t differentiate between television, web and films. If a character excites me and a story moves me, then it doesn’t matter which platform it releases on,” she concludes.
