PATH TO MINDFUL LIVING
Performance, gain insight Mindfulness helps reduce stress, enhance through observing our own mind. Experts suggest how you can practise it
Mental health has taken centre stage amid the prevailing health crisis. We all need some tranquillity and peace, which can be achieved through mindfulness practices. Here’s how you can try mindful living:
Meditation: “Meditation is l the only way to relieve anxiety and give clarity of mind. Just like sun rays burn cotton when they’re focused at a point, meditation helps you focus and burn away all your sufferings,” says spiritual guru Vasi Siva Sitham. Drinking water the right l way: Keep your water intake spaced out through the day. Lifestyle vlogger Radhi says one should have warm or hot water only. “Make sure you sit and have water,” she says. Nutritionists also recommend having water in copper glass first thing in the morning to cleanse out the toxins. Journaling: Letting out l what’s on your mind and putting it on a piece of paper is a great way to release the negative energies. Have a diary and write your affirmations every morning and evening. Also, at the end of the day, write five things you are grateful for; this will let you be mindful of all the good in your life.
Stay active: “Don’t sit in one l position or place for too long. Get up every 20-30 minutes and walk around. Do a little pranayama daily for mental health. Switch off screens an hour before going to bed and read a book,” says nutritionist Kanupriya Khanna.
