OPD SERVICES AT KGMU TO RESUME FROM MONDAY
LUCKNOW: King George Medical University (KGMU) will resume the outpatient department (OPD) service from Monday (June 14).
The appointments will be given via online platform and telephone number.
“The patients in need of getting OPD consultation can book appointment via www.ors.gov.in or www.kgmu.org and those unable to do so shall get appointment over the telephone number 0522-2258880 (30-lines),” said Dr Sudhir Singh, spokesperson, KGMU.
The superspeciality departments OPD will run three days a week while medicine and general surgery will run every day. The OPD of several departments, including cardiology, gynaecology and oncology were running even when the other OPD were closed, said Dr Singh.
Collectively, over 2,500 patients will be seen on an average every day. For OPD consultation, patients will have to bring Covid negative report of sample done within 72 hours.
“Covid negative report is a must for OPD consultation,” said Dr Singh. He said the e-sanjeevani, the teleconsultancy service, started by the KGMU will also continue. OPD were closed for a month due to rise in Covid cases. The average footfall of patients before pandemic was about 7,000. The OPD will run between 9 am and 2 pm.
The superspeciality departments will register 20 old (follow up) and 30 new patients for each day while speciality departments will register 50 new and 50 old patients for each OPD day.The other institutes in the state capital, including SGPGI and Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, have already begun OPD services.
