₹380 CR LOAN DISBURSED UNDER ODOP: SEHGAL

LUCKNOW: The state government distribute­d Rs 200 crore in loans to artisans under the ODOP scheme in the financial year 2020-21. Navneet Sehgal, additional chief secretary, MSME department, gave the informatio­n on Thursday.

This amount is twice as compared to what was distribute­d in the last financial year, 2019-20, Sehgal said. Despite the lockdown the government has been able to achieve all its targets set for the ODOP scheme, he added. “In the last financial year, 16,000 artisans were provided tool kits and 10-day training,” said Sehgal. All 13 common facility centres approved under the ODOP scheme are under constructi­on, Sehgal added.

The government has identified 75 products in as many districts that are indigenous.

These products have made the respective districts famous. In the long list of 75 products, are the world famous carpets of Bhadohi, brassware of Moradabad, locks of Aligarh, famous black pottery of Mirzapur, crockery of Khurja, leather of Agra and Kanpur and Chikan embroidery of Lucknow.
