Top seed Saurya Singh goes down fighting
LUCKNOW: Seeds continued to fall even on the second day of the AITA Under-18 Boys and Girls Championship Series on Tuesday as top seeded Saurya Singh of UP went down fighting to West Bengal’s Harsh Chitlangia -2 in the boys singles prequarters, at the Unnad Tennis Academy here in Ashiyana.
Chitlangia was on target from the very start, winning the first set by 6-3. But Singh bounced back superbly in the second set, claiming it by 7-5 to level the score. In decider, Chitlangia managed two break points to finish off the set at 6-4 and match too.

FINE VICTORY
X Student Club scored a fine 3-0 win against Aliganj Sporting in the 2nd Rajeshwari Devi Thakur Das Memorial Football Tournament, at the Chowk Stadium here on Tuesday. Saddam, Priyanshu and Shubham were the scorers.
In the second match of the day, Milani Club beat JJSS Club by 5-4 in tie-breaker. The two teams were locked in 1-1 draw.
CONTRASTING WINS
Commercial Challengers and Mechanical Mavericks won matches on Day Three of the Inter Divisional Football Tournament of the North Eastern Railway, at the Aishbagh Railway Stadium here on Tuesday. Challengers beat Account Wizards by 3-1, whereas Mechanical Mavericks defeated Engineering Devils by 4-0. Prashant scored a brace, while Manish and Shivam shared two goals between them.
CRICKET TRIALS
Cricket Association Lucknow is going to conduct trials for Under 14 age group players of Lucknow and Hardoi from October 2 to 5 here at 8:30 am. Chest Numbers will be available at CAL office from Wednesday.
