CONSUMER BODY CHAIRMAN FETED BY UP ENERGY MINISTER

LUCKNOW : Uttar Pradesh energy minister Shrikant Sharma felicitated the chairman of UP Rajya Vidyut Upbhokta Parishad and member of the state energy advisory committee, Awadhesh Kumar Verma, on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day on Friday.

“Consumers rights will be protected in the state and the UP government will continue to work for the interest of power consumers,” the minister said.

Chairman of the Parishad, Awadhesh Kumar Verma said, “Today, the energy minister has not only honoured me, but also more than three crore electricity consumers of the state. We must work unitedly to make Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) self-reliant. The consumers’ council, while protecting the rights of electricity consumers, has also tried to work for improving the financial situation of UPPCL.”

Upbhokta Parishad would launch an awareness campaign to educate consumers about their rights, Verma added.
