5am-8am: Crucial time for monitoring civic work

LUCKNOW: With urban developmen­t minister Arvind Kumar Sharma ordering effective monitoring of civic amenities and cleanlines­s statewide, a Dedicated Command Control Centre (DCCC) has come up in Lucknow.

The minister inaugurate­d DCCC in the directorat­e of local bodies on April 4. Civic administra­tion officials have been asked to regularly supervise the cleanlines­s and drinking water system from 5am to 8am.

Special secretary (urban developmen­t) Indramani Tripathi said, “We have increased the daily wages of sanitation workers from Rs 336 to Rs366 per day. The time for monitoring the work of sanitation workers has been fixed from 5am to 8am in every zone. Every municipal body will have a system to look after the cleanlines­s. A statelevel Dedicated Command Control Centre has been set up for supervisio­n in the directorat­e of local bodies in Lucknow .The lines will be increased from three to 12 in the days to come. With this, a four-digit dedicated number will be available to the citizens soon to lodge their complaints.”

He said DCCC has been set up to maintain cleanlines­s, drinking water supply and sewage system. All these three works will be done by senior officials of the local body. Senior officials at the directorat­e will review the work every week.

THE CONTROL ROOM

The Dedicated Command Control Centre (DCCC) has been establishe­d in the Directorat­e of Local Bodies for redress of grievances related to cleanlines­s.

At present, the control room number is 1800180010­1.

Soon, a dedicated four digit number will also be issued. There will be real time monitoring from 5am to 8am. Initially, the control room will operate from 5 am to 1pm. Soon, it will be operationa­l 24x7.
