AIMPL T20 to start from December 23

LUCKNOW : The All-India Media Premier League Twenty20 Tournament will be held from December 23 to 25, 2022 at the Guru Gobind Singh Sports College Ground here in Lucknow.

Organising secretary, Gulshan Dwivedi said that so far five teams i.e. defending champions Allahabad (Prayagraj), hosts and runners-up Lucknow, Chandigarh, Delhi and Kanpur have confirmed their participation.

Tournament will be played on league-basis and in coloured dress with white ball. Besides cricket, football kicking, putting in golf and dart competition would be also held during the three-day event, which is sponsored by the Indian Oil Corporation, Green Gas Limited, Radico Khaitan Limited and others.

A fine all-round show by Saurabh Tiwari (86 runs, 2 wkts) helped Sports Galaxy Cricket Club (SGCC) score a convincing 35-run win against New Light Cricket Club (NLCC) in a C division league here on Monday.

BRIEF SCORES SGCC 215 in 38.4 overs

(Saurabh Tiwari 86, Harshjit Singh 39, Amitabh Pandey 22, Ashar 3/35, Jasmeet Singh 3/46, Shrey Sharma 2/31, Shakti Verma 2/46) beat NLCC 180/9 in 40 overs (Arun Singh 44, Ashar 37, Ashmit Mishra 3/24, Saurabh Tiwari 2/36, Vineet Kumar 2/33).

ATHLETICS TRIALS

The Lucknow District Athletics Association would be conducting selection trials to pick its cross-country teams on December 7, at the KD Singh ‘Babu’ Stadium here at 7.00 am. Teams in under-16, under-18 under-20 boys/girls, men and women would be participating in the 56th UP State Championship, scheduled to be held on December 11 in Mau.
