Mehrotra takes out padyatra, showcases grassroots connect

LUCKNOW : Ravidas Mehrotra, the Samajwadi Party candidate for the Lucknow Central Lok Sabha seat, led a padyatra in a grassroots’ engagement exercise, in Lucknow, on Saturday. Stretching over several kilometers, the Padyatra exemplifie­d Mehrotra’s direct connection with the electorate.

Throughout the march, Mehrotra was greeted with enthusiasm as people garlanded him and showered flowers. A number of residents joined the Padyatra, which started from Aishbagh Chowki in Malviya Nagar Ward and traversed through various neighbourh­oods including Aishbagh Station, Aishbagh Chowki in Rani Laxmi Bai Ward, Kasai Bara , Bhunsa Mandi, Ganne Wali Gali, Garbarjhal­a Jhala, Latouche Road, Phoolbagh, Deep Hotel till Moti Lal Bose Road, Naya Gaon East.

Addressing a street meeting at Subatiyaba­gh Tiraha Moon Bakery in Rajabazar, Mehrotra expressed gratitude to supporters, asserting the India bloc is going to sweep the polls. He urged residents to vote for the alliance to save democracy.

said that they were increasing the momentum of the election campaign as the voting day approached, noting the growing support from the public for their candidate.

Gaurav Singh Yadav, the Lucknow Lok Sabha media in-charge, highlighte­d the significan­t turnout of voters from the Central Assembly constituen­cy during the Padyatra and the subsequent street meeting.

Mehrotra said that the power of grassroots campaignin­g and the enduring connection between SP and their voters would be seen on coming May 20, when people would be voting in large numbers for SP and he would be defeating the BJP candidate by a margin of at least 3 lakh votes.
