‘World has gone digital, Lalu wants to revive lantern era in Bihar’
LUCKNOW: Attacking the Congress and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and branding them as “Ramdrohi” (betrayers of Ram), chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said while the world has progressed into the digital age, Lalu Prasad Yadav seeks to revive the “lantern era” in Bihar.
Accusing the Congress and RJD of attempting to undermine reservation rights of SC, ST, and OBC communities, he further asserted: “Lalu Prasad Yadav advocates OBC reservation for all Muslims.”
Speaking at an election rally in support of BJP candidate and Union minister Giriraj Singh in Begusarai, Bihar, Adityanath cautioned against what he called the CongressRJD alliance’s agenda of pushing the country towards another division.
He urged people to thwart their malicious attempt by making sure that candidates of the alliance lost their deposit.
Describing the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as a contest between ‘Rambhakt’ (devotee of Lord Ram) and ‘Ramdrohi’, Yogi noted a surge in pro-Pakistan sentiment among the latter.
At the outset of his speech, Yogi Adityanath paid his respects to the “holy land of national poet” Ramdhari Singh ‘Dinkar’, and said that he has come to greet the people of Begusarai from the holy land of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram.
He emphasised the immense joy felt by the people of Mata Janaki’s maternal home when the 500-year wait ended and Lord Shri Ram was enthroned in Ayodhya.
Asking people if they aspired to witness the emergence of a new Bihar within a new India, Yogi Adityanath lashed out at the Congress and RJD for attributing terrorist incidents to “external forces during their rule”.
“The NDA government has been consistently working towards finding a permanent solution to Bihar’s flood issue. Under PM Modi’s leadership, the foundation of a developed India has been laid. However, to realise this vision, the reins of the nation must be entrusted to PM Modi once again,” he said.
Begusarai, enriched by the blessings of Mother Ganga and the literary essence of Goddess Saraswati, holds a sacred significance, he said.
Giriraj Singh, MP Vivek Thakur, BJP district president Rajeev Verma, JD (U) district president Rudal Rai, ministers Surendra Mehta, Hari Sahni, MLA Kundan Kumar, Rajneesh Kumar, Rajkumar Singh, Lalan Kumar and Prem Paswan among others attended the event.
