NEWDELHI: The Delhi high court on Wednesday sought response of the Delhi government, speaker and four assembly committees on a plea by chief secretary Anshu Prakash, challenging the fresh proceedings against him by the question and reference committee and the protocol committee of Delhi assembly.

Justice Vibhu Bakhru did not pass any order after Rahul Mehra, counsel for the government, said the committees have not summoned Prakash yet as the complaint is at a “premature” stage. The court said the chief secretary could approach the court if there is any action.

Appearingforprakash, senior advocates Siddharth Luthra and Vivek Chib informed the court that fresh proceedings have been initiated as a “counter-blast” to the case filed against Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy and 11 AAP MLAS. Terming the case a “witch-hunt” by Centre, AAP said the chargesheet is “bogus”.

AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj tweeted: “Notices were issued to CS to explain why his absence... should not be considered as breach of privileges... No relief for CS at HC today.”
