Plea to find Ganga activist

Hindustan Times (Noida) - - METRO -

NEW DELHI: Shamsher Singh, the father of “missing” Ganga activist Mahant Gopal Das, Friday appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to find his son.

Das (36), who has been on a fast unto death seeking better management and conservation of Ganga and its tributaries, has been missing since he was discharged from AIIMS last Wednesday.

“He (Modi) is the Prime Minister. It is his duty to ensure that people are safe in this country. More so, because my son has not been asking for anything but a clean Ganga and cow protection,” said Singh flanked by AAP MLA Somnath Bharti.

“He was fasting to save Ganga. That’s why he was removed...” said Bharti on Friday.

The BJP, meanwhile, accused the AAP of politicising the incident.
