Badals have done nothing except accumulating money: Amarinder
DHARAMKOT (MOGA): Congress deputy leader in the Lok Sabha and former Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh said here on Monday that the Badals have done nothing for Punjab except making money for themselves.
Amrinder was addressing a public rally organised by Sukhjeet Singh Kaka Lohgarh, in-charge of Dharamkot assembly segment, here on Monday.
This was the first political rally by Captain Amarinder Singh in the district under Mission-2017.
Lashing out at the Akalis, Captain Amarinder Singh urged the people to get rid of the Badals who allegedly misused and bungled the money of the SGPC also.
“The SAD-BJP government, led by Parkash Singh Badal, has not only robbed the state all these years, but they have not even spared the SGPC, a religious body of the Sikhs, that looks after the religious affairs, and have misused and bungled its money,” alleged Amarinder Singh.
Challenging chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, he asked him to claim even a single achievement to his credit though he has become the chief minister of the state for the fifth time. “Badal has rather accumulated wealth by looting the state and has given the state drugs and debt only to rob it financially and socially. While the state is under ` 1.25 lakh crore of debt, Badal has personally accumulated a lot of wealth by building luxury hotels and buying land,” said Amarinder.
Terming the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as an inexperienced one and the Akalis corrupt, he appealed to the people to press the right button to elect the right leaders and the government.
The former chief minister said, “Beware of pressing the right button to elect good leaders, lest you should end up electing leaders like Tota Singh who has done nothing for the people except victimisation and indulgence in corruption.”
Captain also expressed his concern about the lifting of paddy in the coming season. “The FCI has stopped procurement and the state government has no money to buy paddy. Badal has done nothing to approach the Union government in this regard so for and it is very doubtful how the paddy would be procured,” he said.
The Congress leader also condemned the delay in the implementation of one rank one pension (OROP) by the BJP-led government at the centre while it was already approved by the UPA government earlier.
“If you can spare ` one lakh crore for Kashmir and ` 1.25 lakh crore for Bihar, which is going to witness polls, then why can’t you not spare only ` 9,100 crore for the implementation of the OROP scheme,” Captain asked while criticising the Union government.
Those present on the occasion included SGPC member Sukhjit Singh Kaka Lohgarh, district Congress president Darshan Singh Brar, Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi, former minister Dr Malti Thapar, Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, former district president Dr tara Singh Sandhu, MLAs Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, Joginder Singh Panjgraian, Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, former MLA Vijay Sathi and several others.
