Indrani kept an eye on Mikhail in Guwahati
MUMBAI: Revelations by Mikhail Bora, the brother of Sheena Bora, has given the high-profile murder case a new dimension, sources in the police.
Indrani Mukerjea, co-founder of INX Media and Sheena’s mother, has been accused of killing her daughter. Her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and chauffer Shyam Rai are the others accused in the case. Mikhail and Sheena’s partner Rahul Mukerjea, who also happens to be her stepbrother, were named as key witnesses in the case by Khar police officials. According to police officials, Indrani allegedly paid someone in Guwahati to keep an eye on Mikhail’s activities, and to poison him if the opportunity arose. Based on Mikhail’s statement, the police added attempt to murder charges against Indrani and her accomplices. According to Mikhail, on April 25, 2012, he visited Mumbai as Indrani claimed she had something important to discuss with him.
“She even sent him the flight ticket from Guwahati to Mumbai. It was the same day when Indrani and the other accused had reportedly disposed of Sheena’s body
in the jungles at Pen, Raigad,” said a senior police officer, requesting anonymity. Mikhail went directly to Indrani’s Worli residence and was given a drink that he believes was laced with sedatives. Mikhail immediately realized something was wrong, and managed to get out of the house. He took a taxi directly to the domestic airport, said police officials. “He booked a flight to Guwahati and never came back to the city. Till this date, Mikhail has not revealed anything about this to anyone,” said a police officer.
In fact, Mikhail has also claimed that he had written an email to Peter Mukerjea informing him that Indrani is his mother.
