Focus on house of Assam judge who killed family

GUWAHATI: The Sheena Bora murder has made officers in western Assam’s Dhubri town revisit an abandoned bungalow of a district and sessions judge who killed his three daughters 45 years ago. The government has decided to transform the bungalow into the judicial court that had been operating out of the adjoining deputy commissioner’s office.

The fund for the building was sanctioned in 2012 but not released until now. Former district and sessions judge Upendra Nath Rajkhowa in 1970 had buried his daughters along with his wife Putuli after strangling them. Rajkhowa had them murdered after a chance pathological test revealed he was infertile to become a father. He spied on his wife and found that a government officer would often arrive in a black car whenever he told her he was leaving the town on assignments. Rajkhowa was arrested three months later.
