NEW STATE BJP UNIT NAMED
CHANDIGARH: Punjab BJP president Vijay Sampla announced his new team of state-unit office-bearers on Sunday here. He appointed eight vice-presidents and secretaries each, two general secretaries, and a general secretary (organisation). The name of one of the general secretaries was held back and sources say it could be Vineet Joshi.
Harjit Singh Grewal, Rakesh Rathore, Anil Sareen, Raj Kumar Pathi, Sandeep Rinwa, Umesh Shakar, Archana Dutt, and Iqbal Singh Lal Pura are new state BJP vicepresidents. Manjit Singh Rai and Kewal Kumar are general secretaries, while Dinesh Kumar was retained as general secretary (organisation).
Vineet Joshi, Subhash Sharma, Aman Deep Singh Punia, Veeran Wali, Renu Thapar, Anil Sachar, Vijay Puri and Jaishree Gulati were appointed secretaries, Dewan Amit Arora media secretary, and Subodh Verma joint media secretary. Gurdev Sharma remains treasurer, while Adarsh Bhatia is new joint treasurer. Raj Kumar Bhatia stays office secretary, while Mona Jaiswal is Mahila Morcha (women’s wing) president.
Many office-bearers on Sampla’s team were also in the unit led by previous state party chief Kamal Sharma. Rathore was general secretary and Pathi, Rinwa and Shakar were secretaries. Rai was general secretary for some time under Sharma’s tenure, and Kewal Kumar also was vice-president on the previous team. Subhash Sharma, Veeran Wali, and Jaishree Gulati were secretaries in the previous term. Renu Thapar was Mahila Morcha president and Jaiswal its general secretary. Bali also was an office-bearer of the state Scheduled Castes Morcha.
