Sukhbir: Sidhu will be non-player in assembly polls

-

Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal on Tuesday said cricketer-turnedpolitician Navjot Singh Sidhu, who resigned from the BJP recently, will not have any bearing on the assembly elections in the state.

Sukhbir, also the president of the ruling Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), said: “I have no grudge against Sidhu. I always supported him. However, he criticised me to remain in the news. I do not think he will make any impact in the election. He will be a non-player. Now, he is interested in Congress.

He had criticised Congress earlier. He had bargained with the Aam Aadmi Party. What could be his ideology since he has put himself in the market for bargain?” he said.

‘AAP WON’T CROSS SINGLE DIGIT IN PUNJAB’

Dismissing Arvind Kejriwal’s AAP, he said it would not win over nine seats in Punjab. “If the assembly elections were held a year ago in Punjab, the AAP might have won 70 seats, but now the scenario has changed (and) as of now, the party will not get more than nine seats, whereas the Congress may get 35-40 seats and we will get 70 seats,” Sukhbir claimed.

“With every visit of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to Punjab, the AAP loses more seats as people have seen through him. Even if the elections were held in Delhi today, the AAP will not get majority there,” Sukhbir claimed.

He joined Congress and had bargained with AAP. What can be his ideology? SUKHBIR SINGH BADAL, Akali Dal president
