Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode will conduct a communication course on ‘impersonal, interpersonal and hyperpersonal comunication at work’ from December 18 to December 22, 2016.

The course is part of the ministry of human resource development (MHRD) sponsored Global Initiative of Academic Networks (GIAN).

In today’s technologyenabled world, effective communication is the need of the hour for people across the world with diverse backgrounds. This course will cover the principles and practice of effective communication from analysing the communication context and dynamics of relational status to delivering ideas. Participants will be taught to identify their own stereotypes, prejudices, and communication behaviours that can create barriers to impersonal, interpersonal, and hyperpersonal relationships.

The course will be jointly taught by Professor Anupam Das of IIMK who is part of the faculty of humanities and liberal arts in management, Professor Richard Buttny of Syracuse University (USA), and Professor Jodi Cohen of Cornell University (USA). People with good command over the English language and with a minimum of a postgraduate degree are eligible to register.

Interested candidates must register with the GIAN website latest by December 10, 2016. For further information and registration, visit http://www.gian. iitkgp.ac.in/ccourses/ approvecourses2

Courses under GIAN aim to provide opportunities to students to seek knowledge and experience from reputed international faculty. They also help them create avenues for possible collaborative research with international faculty.
