ACCUSED ESCAPED FROM THE HOSPITAL , WHERE HE WAS TAKEN FOR MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Exposing the irresponsible working of the Yamunanagar police, an accused managed to flee from police custody the same day that he was arrested.

As per police sources, the accused Vikrant Singh alias Bagga was arrested on Saturday on his wife’s complaint, in which she accused him of having 'unnatural sex'.

The complaint was filed at the women’s police station.

After his arrest, the police took him to the civil hospital, for medical examination, from where he managed to flee.

Meanwhile, different wings of the city police are passing the buck on their role. While women police station incharge denied the role of staff of women’s police station saying that the case was related to the city police station, the latter denied the charge.

“The case was registered under Section 377 (unnatural offences), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the accused at Hamida police post and the case was related to the city police station. The staff of women’s police station was only investigating the matter as per a forwarded complaint,” said Kulbir Kaur, women police station incharge.

SHO city police station Subhash Chand said the city police station does not have any role in the case and the matter was pending with the women police station.

When contacted Yamunanagar superintendent of police Rajesh Kalia said, “Though the matter was related to the women’s police station, I have ordered a probe into the matter under a DSP so that appropriate action can be taken against erring police officials.” The SP assured that the action will be taken after the report of the DSP.
