CLASS4 EMPLOYEES HOLD DEMONSTRATION AT HARYANA MLA HOSTEL, DEMAND STRICT ACTION, CLAIM THE COOK WAS THRASHED OVER NONAVAILABILITY OF LUNCH

CHANDIGARH: A group of Class-IV employees held a demonstration outside the Haryana MLAs’ hostel on Saturday, demanding action against Rajneesh Garg, a Delhi Police SP rank officer serving as the aide-de-camp (ADC) to Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar, accusing him of thrashing a cook working at the CM residence.

The employees staged a protest and shouted slogans against Garg, demanding action against him.

They later went to police station, Sector 3, where the cook, Anup Kumar, lodged a complaint with the police.

Ram Gopal, deputy superintendent of police (central), under whose jurisdiction the police station, Sector 3, falls, told HT that the police had received the complaint from the cook and got him medically examined.

“Police will take further action after the medical report comes,’’ he added.

The Class IV employees told mediapersons that Garg beat up Kumar on Thursday afternoon over non-availability of lunch. They said that Garg assaulted Kumar with shoes in the presence of Abhimanyu, who is personal assistant of Khattar.

Though Garg could not be contacted, Abhimanyu told HT that he was not in the know of any such incident.
