STRENGTHS

Batting firepower

The batting is formidable with Quinton de Kock, Hashim Amla, David Miller and Faf du Plessis, although skipper AB de Villiers has fitness issues.

Imran Tahir

In two Champions Trophy games, he has four wickets, all versus Sri Lanka. His miserly economy rate can also be a huge factor.

Fielding

SA have been quite sharp. Although Kagiso Rabada dropped a return catch against Upul Tharanga and a half-chance against Niroshan Dickwella, others have not missed chances that have come their way. De Villiers pulled off a brilliant run-out.

De Villiers

WEAKNESSES

The swashbuckling batsman is having a poor run. He was out on 4 against Sri Lanka and fell for a duck against Pakistan, after scoring 216 runs in 9 innings in the IPL. .

Kagiso Rabada

While Imran Tahir and Morne Morkel led the charge against Sri Lanka and Pakistan respectively, Kagiso Rabada is yet to shine with the ball. He has taken just one wicket in two games, going for 82 runs in 15 overs.

Batting collapse

While Hashim Amla (103) and Faf du Plessis (75) led the charge against Sri Lanka, only David Miller (75) played sensibly to guide his team home against Pakistan.
