Kapurthala car-scooter collision leaves three dead, one injured
KAPURTHALA: Three people, including a 16-year-old girl, have died in a road accident here on Saturday. A speeding car had rammed in a two-wheeler, causing the deaths.
Deceased were Rajwant Singh, 55, her granddaughter Kulreet Kaur, 16, both of Uccha Bet village; and Ramneet Singh, in his 20s, of Tarn Taran. The car driver, Gurwinder Singh, of Tarn Taran, has sustained head injuries and is admitted at Kapurthala civil hospital.
A speeding Mahindra Bolero, allegedly lost control while taking a sharp turn and collided with an Activa. Activa driver, Rajwant, was going to drop her granddaughter to tuition, near Parvejh Nagar in Kapurthala district, and Ramneet was in the car with Gurwinder. A case has been registered against the car driver under Section 304 A of the IPC.
10 STUDENTS HURT AS AUTO OVERTURNS
PHAGWARA: Ten girl students of a private school were injured when an auto-rickshaw, in which they were travelling, overturned at Gol Chowk. Nine girls were discharged after first aid, one student, Kamaljit Kaur, is admitted to a local hospital as she suffered serious injuries. They were going to Ramgarhia Senior Secondary School for Girls when the autorickshaw overturned.
