TAKE INSPIRATION FROM NATURE TO STAY HAPPY AND HEALTHY

- Bharti Chopra Innervoice@hindustantimes.com

There are phases in life when you want to be quiet. The lows of life are weighing you down. Nothing makes sense or feels right. You feel so anguished with the unfairness meted out to you that the shadows lurking in the background engulf and choke you.

Sitting in my balcony and sipping my morning cup of tea, I feel a strange helplessness in my heart. Was it really worth it? I ponder! Lost in my thoughts, I suddenly hear some humming around. And with a

little effort, I locate the source of this musical symphony. A pair of exotic birds perched atop a tree facing my balcony. They are singing merrily in their melodious voices and in perfect rhythm, oblivious to the trials and tribulations of the human kind.

On expanding my view around, I see three peacocks on the terrace of a neighbouring house, responding to these birdies in their own shrill voice. I’m mesmerised by the harmony of the scene. And suddenly, the heaviness in my heart begins to

melt.

The vibrancy of nature beckons my soul and I suddenly feel alive. A little birdie within me tells me that all is not lost. If homeless creatures, without a meal in sight, can trust the divine and soak in the bliss of their sheer existence, we humans definitely have a lot to be grateful for. At least, the idea is worth trying. Inner Voice comprises contributions from our readers. The views expressed are personal
