PEHOWA (KURUKSHETRA): Former Haryana CM Bhupider Singh Hooda accused the BJP government of implicating him in false cases, saying that the Saffron party cannot stop him by registering FIRs.

“Worried about the massive public support in my rallies, the BJP government is lodging false and fabricated cases against me to suppress my voice. But I want to tell them very clearly that they cannot deter me with these FIRs,” Hooda said during his Jankranti Rally in Pehowa of Kurukshetra on Sunday.

Without declaring himself as the chief ministerial candidate of the Congress for the next elections, the two-time CM also made several promises, including hike in old age pension to ₹3,000, loan waiver for farmers and the poor and 24-hour power supply at cheaper rates.

He also announced to hold a state-level Sampoorna Kranti Rally in December to start the election campaign. He said that traders, farmers, labourers and government employees are suffering in BJP rule.

Backed by most of the sitting and former MLAs of the Congress, Hooda managed to arrange a considerable gathering at the sixth phase of his Jan Karanti Yatra, despite parallel rallies being organised other Congress leaders, Kiran Chauhdary in Kurukshetra and Randeep Surjewala in Panipat.

CASTE BALANCE ON HOODA’S CHARIOT

Hooda was described as the leader of all 36 communities in the state, and he too, invited leaders of all prominent castes on the chariot, including former HPCC president Phool Chand Mulana, Congress MLAs Kuldeep Sharma, former MP Naveen Jindal, former speaker Harmohinder Singh Chatha and former MP Kailasho Saini. During their brief speeches, all these leaders extended their support to Hooda.

JINDAL RETURNS

Although the rally was organised

by former Pehowa MLA Harmohinder Singh Chatha, former Kurukshetra MP Naveen Jindal also reached the rally and expressed his desire to serve them again. “I am here since 1996 and we worked a lot for this region and want to serve you again,” said Jindal, who had contested the last polls from Kurukshetra unsuccessfully.
