BATHINDA WOMAN DIES OF DENGUE AT PGIMER

as the num­ber of dengue pa­tients in the district is on the rise, a woman who was un­der­go­ing treat­ment for the mos­quito-borne dis­ease died in Chandi­garh on Fri­day.

Pallavi, 30, a res­i­dent of Am­rik Singh Road here, died dur­ing treat­ment at the Post Grad­u­ate In­sti­tute of Med­i­cal Ed­u­ca­tion and Re­search (PGIMER), Chandi­garh, on Fri­day. She was ini­tially ad­mit­ted to a pri­vate hospi­tal in Bathinda, be­fore be­ing taken to the PGIMER.

As per Bathinda civil sur­geon Hari Narain Singh, 477 cases of dengue have been re­ported in the district till Fri­day. He, how­ever, said no dengue death has yet been con­firmed.

Be­sides Bathinda, Mansa and Farid­kot are also in the grip of dengue. Farid­kot has wit­nessed 530 cases with five sus­pected deaths, of which three were from Kotka­pura town alone. Praveen Ku­mar of Kotka­pura had died of sus­pected dengue on Wed­nes­day. In Mansa, nearly 700 dengue cases have been de­tected this sea­son and three peo­ple have re­port­edly died of the dis­ease. Kul­winder Singh of Mansa died on Wed­nes­day.
