Killers of BJP leader, his brother will be neutralised: Ram Madhav
We will not allow Kashmirlike situation in Jammu region and those trying to do so will be taken to task. RAM MADHAV, BJP national general secretary
: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national general secretary, Ram Madhav, has said that terrorists behind the killings of a senior party leader and his brother in Kishtwar will be eliminated soon.
BJP state secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar were shot dead by unidentified assailants on November 1 while they were returning home. “Right now, our main challenge is to track down the terrorists (behind the killings) and neutralise them. That will be done very soon,” Madhav told reporters in Kishtwar, 230 kms from here.
Madhav along with Union ministers Dr Jitendra Singh and JP Nadda, state BJP president Ravinder Raina, J&K high court bar association president BS Slathia and Panthers Party leader BS Mankotia were in Kishtwar to attend a condolence meet in memory of Parihar brothers.
The BJP leader added, “That (neutralising terrorists) is the important thing here. We will not allow these kinds of activities to create instability and violence in Kishtwar or Doda — the peaceful areas of Jammu region. That is our priority and we are focusing on that.”
He said a determined fight was launched in Kashmir to wipe out terrorism. In a veiled attack on politicians of Kashmir, Madhav said militants get emboldened when politicians do not speak against militancy.
“A strong will is needed across political landscape of the state to stand up against terrorism. We are committed to wipe out terrorism. Neither militants nor their supporters will be allowed to go scot-free,” he said.
Taking pot shots at the administration in Kishtwar, Madhav said, “Administration’s role will be discussed at the apt forum. It also might have showed some laxity but more stringent measures will be put in place”.
He added, “This is Jammu and not Kashmir. We will not allow Kashmir-like situation in Jammu and those trying to do so will be taken to task. I hope administration also pays attention to it”.
On November 5, Jammu and Kashmir governor Satya Pal Malik had said those involved in the killings will be booked soon. Even as Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigates the killings, a NIA team reached Kishtwar on November 10 to assist in the probe.
