Shabnamdeep’s another aide held from Sangrur
SANGRUR: Police on Monday arrested a member of the Khalistan Gadar Force, a terrorist outfit, from Dirba in Sangrur.
Wanted by the Patiala police, Jatinder Singh, alias Binder, 28, of Fateh Majri village in Samana is aide of Shabnamdeep Singh, who was arrested from Patiala on November 1 after the police busted a Pakistan-Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) sponsored terror module, said Sangrur senior superintendent of police (SSP) Sandeep Garg. Police arrested Shabnamdeep’s key aide Gursewak on November 2.
Garg said acting of a top-off, police conducted a raid in Dirba and rounded up Jatinder from near the bus stand. “Jatinder assisted Shabnamdeep in executing terror activities. He had set liquor vends on fire in Samana and had also damaged an abandoned school in Haryana. He used to shoot videos of such incidents and sent it to Shabnamdeep to justify his job,” said Garg. Police said before joining the Khalistan Gadar Force, Jatinder was working as a driver.
“After Shabnamdeep’s arrest, Jatinder had taken shelter at his in-laws place in Dirba to evade police. He has been handed over to Patiala police,” said the SSP.
Shabnamdeep planned to attack police stations and crowded places during festive season. Besides being associated with the Khalistan Gadar Force, he was also running operations for US-based pro- Khalistan group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), police had said.
During interrogation, Shabnamdeep confessed that he planned to target Patiala’s ISBT and nearby locations.
