SIT records statement of ex-MP in Barnala

-

BARNALA : The Punjab Police’s special investigation team (SIT) on 2015 police firing recorded the statement of advocate and former MP Rajdev Singh Khalsa at his residence on Friday.

DSP Vibhore Kumar and inspector Anil Bhanot stayed at Khalsa’s residence for an hour to record the statement. Sources said Khalsa had claimed in his statement that before the grant of pardon to Sirsa-based Dera Sacha Sauda chief, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, a meeting was held between the then deputy chief minister Sukhbir Badal and the dera chief at the residence of actor Akshay Kumar in Mumbai.

“I have submitted details of my source and the evidence of such a meeting to probe officers. A deal for pardon to the dera chief and screening of his film was struck, besides the promotion of Akshay’s movie by the government. I cannot disclose more,” Khalsa said.
