SEVEN DISTRICTS IN UTTARAKHAND BAN KEDARNATH
The district magistrates of Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar were among seven who on Thursday imposed a ban on the movie Kedarnath, anticipating disruption of law and order. However, the state government decided not to declare an official ban on the film. The DMs took the decision saying the protesters might disrupt peace if the movie was screened in theatres. The Uttarakhand high court on Thursday refused to ban the film, asking the petitioners to approach the District Magistrate. Chief minister Rawat said filmmakers should not be discouraged but people’s sentiments should not be hurt either. “The district magistrates have been authorised to take a call on the film depending upon the situation in their areas,” he said.
