Lashing out at Haryana chief minister (CM) Manohar Lal Khattar on Sunday, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was seeking votes in the name of cow but had failed to provide proper fodder for the animal.

Addressing a gathering in Saidpur village of Sonepat district, Kejriwal said, “The Delhi government is providing ₹40 per cow everyday to cattle owners while the Haryana government is spending only 40 paisa a day for cows’ fodder and treatment.

“Neither are we indulging in cow politics, nor are we asking for votes in its name. AAP is only focussing on caring for the cow,” said Kejriwal.

He further said, “If AAP is voted to power in Haryana, we will provide all possible help for cows in the state. Everyone in the country is admiring the educational, health, water and electricity facilities in Delhi. And the government-run gaushala in Bawana (Delhi) has been given the best gaushala award.”

AAP’s Haryana chief Naveen Jaihind said, “If the condition of stray cattle in the state is very miserable. Now the voters will throw out the BJP government out of the state.”
