THE HANDSHAKE THAT BECAME PHOTO OF THE DAY

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in Gurdaspur on January 3 to address a public meeting. At the rally, when SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal presented a shawl to welcome him, Modi put his right hand forward for a handshake. However, Sukhbir, who was looking towards the cameras, did not notice the gesture. His wife, Union food processing industries minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who was also standing there, noticed the PM’s gesture. She promptly pushed Sukhbir’s arm towards Modi for the handshake. Her presence of mind was caught on camera and a video went viral on social media. The handshake also became photo of the day.
