Will ensure all-round development of segment

-

What is the high point in your 5-year term as an MP?

The list is long. The constituency was lagging in road connectivity. There was only one national highway. I got six new national highway projects for the segment. They are under construction. We are making Nangal Chaudhary a logistics hub and it will generate employment. In terms of water, three dams are going to be built over Yamuna at a cost of ₹20,000 crore and will help the parched region.

You said you don’t want to contest the Lok Sabha seat again. Why?

Well, that’s what I said long back. I wanted to contest the assembly polls earlier as I thought my experience as a four-time MLA makes me a better choice for it. The domain of an assembly constituency is much smaller than a parliamentary constituency. So, getting people’s work done is easier. But I am ready for any role the party gives me, even contesting the Lok Sabha elections.

Anything which you wanted to do but could not?

I wanted a rail link between Bhiwani and Loharu. I’m sure it will happen soon.

How was your experience in Parliament?

I have been attending assembly sessions for many years but the experience in Parliament is unique. Participating in the debate and asking questions in Parliament gave me a lot of satisfaction.
