Retired clerk held in bribe case

AMBALA: The vigilance bureau has arrested a retired clerk of Panipat municipal corporation on Thursday in connection with a bribe case. The accused was identified as Sumer of Kalkha village of Panipat. Vigilance inspector Balbir said one Ranbir of Model Town had complained that a clerk was demanding ₹35,000 in a bid to reduce his house tax. He was later nabbed while taking ₹20,000 in bribe.
