Close shave for former legislator’s nephew in Yamunanagar firing

AMBALA : Former MLA Dilbagh Singh’s nephew Dilraj Singh had a close shave on Wednesday night when three motorcycleborne assailants fired at his car near ITI Chowk in Yamunanagar.
However, an auto driver, standing on the opposite side of the road, was injured in the incident, police said.
The injured auto driver, identified as Dharampal, is a resident of Amarpuri Colony in Yamunanagar.
Police said the incident took place around 9pm, when Dilraj stopped his car at a traffic signal.
In his complaint, Dilraj said three bike-borne men, coming from the opposite side, fired indiscriminately at his car, leaving the auto driver, who was standing across the road, injured. “Soon after incident, I lost control over my vehicle had hit the divider. The locals present at the spot rushed the auto driver to a city hospital.”.
The nephew of former Yamunanagar MLA said he suspected the hand of Kala Rana’s gang behind the attack. He said Kala Rana is currently lodged in a jail for “firing” at his uncle in June 2017.
City Yamunanagar SHO Ajay Rana said the police had registered a case against the unidentified persons under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
“A hunt is on to nab the accused,” he added.
