Sikh Em­pire gen­eral At­tari­wala re­mem­bered

Pun­jab Govern­ment cel­e­brated the Sikh gen­eral Sar­dar Sham Singh At­tari­wala’s 173rd mar­tyr­dom day at the Gate­way of In­dia (Narain­garh) and At­tari Sa­madh, dur­ing a state-level func­tion or­gan­ised here on Sun­day.

Pun­jab rev­enue and wa­ter re­sources min­is­ter Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, who presided over the func­tion, an­nounced a grant of ₹5 lakh to At­tari­wala Trust.

Along with the cabi­net min­is­ter, lo­cal MLA Tarsem Singh, bri­gadier APS Cha­hal, deputy com­mis­sioner Kamaldeep Singh Sangha, po­lice com­mis­sioner S Sri­vas­tava, colonel Kuldeep Singh Sidhu, colonel Harinder Singh At­tari and gen­eral of­fi­cer com­mand­ing west­ern com­mand and Cap­tain Ab­hishek Shukla paid homage at the bust of mar­tyr Sham Singh At­tari­wala and po­lice per­son­nel gave gun salute to the great mar­tyr.

Sarkaria said that the great Sham Singh was an icon, who will al­ways be a source of in­spi­ra­tion for ev­ery­one.
