Founded in 17th century by Sheikh Farid, treasurer of Mughal ruler Jahangir, Faridabad is a major industrial hub. Second most populated city after Gurugram, the city is also part of the NCR. With over 17 lakh voters, the segment has about 2 lakh Gurjars, 2.8 lakh Jats, 1.5 lakh Meos and over 4 lakh voters belonging to SC/BC castes. 2014: Gurjar trounced Avtar Bhadana (Cong) by 4.6 lakh votes 2009: Avtar Bhadana (Cong) defeated BJP’s Ramchander Bainda by over 68,000 votes

2004: Avtar Bhadana (Cong) defeated INLD’s Mohd Ilyas by over 1.4 lakh votes
