Youth booked for abetment as 23-yr-old girl commits suicide

: A Galoli village youth was booked after a 23-year-old allegedly committed suicide in Yamunanaga­r on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Kavita, 23, a BA final year student of a private college in Yamunanaga­r.

Her father, Raj Kumar, said a youth identified as Mohit alias Mogli had been harassing his daughter for a long time.

“On Monday, I got a call in the afternoon that my daughter was admitted to a private hospital and her condition was deteriorat­ing. The doctors referred her to the trauma centre of a government hospital and then to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) but she died on the way,” he said. Her mother said that Kavita had left for college at 8am.

“Mohit offerered my daughter some poisonous substance. He is the real culprit and should nab him at the earliest,” she said. A doctor at a private hospital where the girl was first brought to the hospital by four to five persons, who left after leaving her on a stretcher.

Police have, however, lodged a case under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
