₹2.2 cr sanctioned for gaushalas in all 22 districts
chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh, on Wednesday, okayed the release of ₹2.2 crore for the upkeep and management of cattle pounds (gaushalas) being run under the aegis of deputy commissioners. The move is aimed at curbing the menace of stray cattle across the state, according to an official spokesperson, who said ₹10 lakh had been sanctioned by the CM for each of the 22 gaushalas in the state.
