Parents booked for abandoning minor girl

Police have registered a case against a couple for allegedly abandoning their 11-year-old girl child in Naya Gaon village in Yamunanagar last week. Accused Jitender and his wife Meena, who hail from Motihari district of Bihar, have been booked under Section 317 (exposure and abandonment of child under twelve years, by parent or person having care) of IPC. Rescued girl Anju is currently in the custody of the Yamunanagar child welfare committee (CWC).
