Minor girls ends life after uncle rapes her

A 24-year-old man has been arrested by Bhiwani police for allegedly raping his minor niece, who later committed suicide due to social stigma.

The police said the incident occurred on Tuesday. The accused was to marry on February 14 and the entire family had gone out for celebrations. When the family came back home, they found him in objectionable position with his 16-year-old niece.

The girl’s family approached the police and filed a complaint, but meanwhile she jumped in a well in her village.

Since there no water in the well, the girl injured herself and was admitted to hospital where she succumbed to injuries on Wednesday.

The police arrested the accused and produced him in a local court on Wednesday.
