Jagtar Singh Tara appears in court through videoconfe­rencing

Jagtar Singh Tara, undergoing life imprisonme­nt till death for assassinat­ion of former Punjab chief minister Beant Singh, appeared before the court of additional sessions judge Kanwaljit Singh Bajwa in connection with a case registered against him in November 2014, through video conferenci­ng from Burail jail in Chandigarh. Another accused Ramandeep Singh alias Sunny, who is locked in the Bathinda Central Jail at Gobindpura village, also appeared through video conferenci­ng.

The third accused, Amarjit Singh, who has been granted bail in case was present in court. The next date of hearing has been fixed for February 20. Ramandeep, arrested by the Bathinda Police in November 2014, with a handmade bomb and explosive material, is accused of providign training in weapons to others held in the case; according to police claim, he in touch with Tara, who was absconding at the time, but was arrested later.
