MAMATA’S HOLLOW CONCERN FOR DEMOCRACY

Mamata Banerjee was the first to express solidarity with former Uttar Pradesh minister Akhilesh Yadav, after he was detained at the Lucknow airport on way to Prayagraj. She has raised concerns over democratic values. However, Mamata had meted out the same treatment to Amit Shah and Aditya Yogi in West Bengal, disallowing their helicopters to land, just earlier this month. Public memory is not this short.
