Protest held against life term to 3 Sikh youths

of the Darbare-Khalsa, a Sikh organisati­on, on Thursday protested against life sentence to three Sikh youths by an SBS Nagar court for possessing pro-Khalistan literature and posters. The protesters raised slogans against the Punjab government at Bhai Kanhaiya Chowk by holding placards and literature books.

President of organisati­on Harjinder Singh Majhi said the Punjab Police should also arrest them as they are possessing similar literature for which the three were sentenced to life term.

He said such incidents where youths have been give life sentence for waging war against state for merely possessing literature, pamphlets and photograph­s is the reason that Punjab’s youth were migrating to other countries.
