Phoolka meets Brahmpura

CHANDIGARH : Dakha MLA HS Phoolka and Shiromani Akali Dal (Taksali) president Ranjit Singh Brahmpura held a two- hour meeting in Chandigarh on Wednesday.

The meeting coincides with Phoolka’s demand for a resolution on conducting Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhalk Committee (SGPC) elections, referring to a communication from the Prime Minister’s Office that the elections are due since December 2016 and the Centre is in process of appointing chief commissioner, gurdwara elections.

Phoolka and leaders of SAD (Taksali) have announced that they want to pull the SGPC out of the clutches of the Badals. The meeting was also attended by Sewa Singh Sekhwan and Karnail Singh Peer Mohammad.

Meanwhile, SAD (Taksali) has appointed former deputy speaker of Punjab legislative assembly Bir Devinder Singh as senior vice-president and spokesperson for the party.
