2 SINGERS PLEDGE ₹20 LAKH

: Punjabi singers Ammy Virk and Ranjit Bawa donate ₹10 lakh each for the families of Pulwama attack martyrs from Punjab. Central Reserve Police Force jawans — Sukhjinder Singh, Kulwinder Singh, Jaimal Singh and Maninder Singh — from Punjab were killed after a suicide bomber rammed an explosivel­aden SUV into their bus in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwana on Thursday.

Virk posted a note on his Instagram account, “My heart goes out to the loved ones of each and every military personnel. I have decided to donate ₹10 lakh to the families of the fallen servicemen from Punjab who lost their lives in the Pulwama terror attack. May almighty give the families strength during this time.” Virk also urged his fans and other people to help the victim families. He has also postponed the release of song from his upcoming film, ‘Guddyian Patole’.

Another singer, Ranjit Bawa, posted a message on his Instagram account too, pledging ₹2.5 lakh to each victim family from Punjab. “I know it will neither reduce the families’ pain...may God give strength,” wrote Bawa. Punjab government has already announced ₹12-lakh compensati­on to the each victim family.
