Minor rape victim awarded ₹5 lakh compensation

The district legal services authority, Ambala, has awarded a compensation of ₹5 lakh to a minor rape victim. The district court had held the accused guilty under Section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence offence) of the Indian Penal code(IPC) and POCSO act in November last year and sent him to 20-year rigorous imprisonment. The court had also imposed a fine of ₹5 lakh on him.
