Reimburse fee of EWS students: Pvt schools

-

ROHTAK:Haryana private schools association on Saturday asked the government to reimburse the fees of economically weaker students admitted under rule 134A of the Haryana School Education Rules, which is pending for the past four years.

The association warned the government that private schools will stop admitting meritorious students belonging to EWS from the upcoming session if the reimbursement is not given before April. Association president Satyawan Kundu said government was pressurising schools to admit the students but was not fulfilling its duty of reimbursing schools.

So far, the government has not decided the reimbursement for students studying in higher classes but for primary and middle-level, the reimbursement is ₹300 and ₹500. “Even that has not been paid. Dues worth crores of rupees are pending. Not all private schools are capable of giving free education. The government must comply with its own rule before telling private schools to do so,” said Kundu. HTC
