Agri, social sector major focus
Over 50% of plan allocation has gone to social services
Agriculture and allied (₹4,120 crore)
The allocation in the sector for coming financial year (2019-20) witnessed a drastic fall of ₹2,540 crore as compared to the current fiscal (2018-19) that has an allocation of ₹ 6,660 crore. The major focus will be on debt waiver for which the government will spend three-fourth of the total allocation. It is 20% of the total plan allocation.
Rural development (₹1,527 crore)
The allocation for the sector has grown three times in comparison to the current fiscal having an allocation of ₹584 crore. It makes 7.33% of total allocation and the major focus will be smart village campaign that was launched on Monday.
Transport (₹1,084 crore)
The allocation has been increased by ₹371 crore as compared to the current fiscal’s allocation of ₹ 913 crore. This allocation is 5% of the total under which 13 new bus stands will come up in the state and 100 new buses will be added to the fleet.
Social services (₹11,944 crore)
This sector allocation is 57% of the total, witnessing an increase of ₹2,357 crore as compared to the current financial year’s ₹9,587 crore.
