Venezuela: EU MPs invited by Guaido barred entry
CARACAS: Venezuela’s government on Sunday blocked five European lawmakers from entering the country. “We are being expelled from Venezuela, our passports have been seized, they have not informed us of the reason for the expulsion,” said Spanish Member of the European Parliament Esteban Gonzalez Pons, who led the group. All are members of the conservative European People’s Party (PPE). Writing on Twitter, Guaido slammed the decision and said the group was “deported by an isolated and increasingly irrational regime”, referring to President Nicolas Maduro.
